Catching up

I'm sitting here at school at 4:30 am, so I figured I would update my blog.

Why am I here instead of my warm bed? A colic watch. I'm on the large animal rotation - a horse came in last night with diarrhea and he's colicking. So we stay here all night checking his vital signs, keeping him on IV fluids and giving him his medications. My shift is 4am to 8am. Clinics start at 8, so I will be here for the rest of the day.
Thanksgiving was really nice. I always stay down here and just use the time off to relax and catch up on school work or things around the house. This year the pharmacist at school invited Lisa and me (and two other friends from school) to spend Thanksgiving with her family. It was a really nice day. Her family was very welcoming and the food was great. The house is on a huge lake and with the beautiful weather, we even went out on the boat.
I finally took the NAVLE. It was weird. I finished VERY early. Started the test around 7:45 am and was done by 11:40ish. Most people don't finsh until 2 or 3, sometimes later. I've always been a fast test taker, especially multiple choice. I either know the answer or I don't... rereading the question a million times doesn't help. But, this time it kind of freaked me out a little bit. It feels great to be done though :-) I don't have to study for anything anymore! I can worry about learning things I want to know rather than useless things I have to know. I just hope I passed!
Last week a goat came in for a c-section. She had no milk so the kids had to be bottle fed. Rather than staying at school all night taking care of them, I took them home. It was great. They were so cute and Billy loved them!
This is the little girl eating.

Both kids.

Both kids with the mom the next day.
So, thats been my excitement for the past few weeks. Now I'm just waiting for the semester to end so I can relax for a while.
And...I'm having the hardest time formatting this post, so if it looks weird, like one big paragraph or has big stupid spaces in it or anything else...forgive me, I tried.

Taking goats home... it sounds like you've arrived! I'm serious! Glad you are done with the boring-studying part of your education :)
